Anglican Prayer Beads...

Anglican Prayer Beads were developed in the mid-80’s by Episcopal priest, Lynn Bauman.

33 beads (Jesus’ age at his crucifixion) are divided into 4 “weeks” of 7 beads (the days of creation, the biblical number of perfection), 4 “cruciform” beads (4 Gospels, 4 cardinal directions), and an “invitatory” bead. Prayed three times, plus one cross, it adds up to 100. Anglican prayer beads have
no standardized sequence of prayers. They are a tactile aid to prayer, used for counting and aiding concentration. They may be used in various ways, a sort of “blank slate” for devotional use.
